Welcome to Blue Sky Trust
We support and connect people in the North East and Cumbria at every step of their HIV journey. Finding out that you, or a loved one, are living with HIV can be a huge shock. Whether it’s providing help to come to terms with the diagnosis, peer mentoring, rebuilding confidence or becoming part of a supportive community, Blue Sky Trust provides a confidential and safe place to connect and thrive. Find out more about what we do here.
“Blue Sky Trust is a warm, friendly homely place where you can feel relaxed and connect with others living with HIV. If you want to talk about it, there’s always someone around…it’s that warm, embracing inclusive welcome you get when you come.” - Paul-
Who We Support
Blue Sky Trust supports 150 men, women and children living with and affected by HIV in North East England and North Cumbria. We take self referrals and referrals from professionals and agencies. If you would like to find out more, self refer or refer someone to our service, please contact us.
“Blue Sky Trust gives you access to people going through exactly the same thing as you are and doing well … it’s good for me to see that in other people. The way the Trust facilitates that is awesome.” - Will -
HIV Training
HIV stigma and discrimination is often the result of misinformation and, as such, we are passionate about raising awareness of HIV. Our online and in-person training will help you learn more about HIV. Our friendly team can deliver bespoke training (which will include the stories of those living with HIV), to meet the needs of your group, business or team. Please get in touch to find out more.
Challenging HIV Stigma
HIV Stigma is one of the biggest challenges in the response to HIV. In 2022, Blue Sky Trust and the specialist HIV Psychology Team at the RVI carried out a survey of our members asking about their experiences of stigma and its impact.
